From Seasoned Alaska Trip Planners: Cindy and Wray

• Get an Alaskan Milepost
book from your nearest good bookstore’s travel section. Bring it with!

• Flying in from afar, give yourselves plenty of time to rest after you get to Anchorage and before you head off on another leg. You’re ON VACATION…not in a race!!

• Bring time-release melatonin to help adjust to the new time zone and the daylight nights!

• Leave plenty of time for stops along your route on day trips and in between overnight stay locations ---The map is LOTS bigger than it looks and there are SOO many awesome things to see and side places to visit!

• It is a five-½ hour drive (no stops) from Anchorage to Denali Nat’l Park entrance. The only way to see the park is on a bus (reserve ahead!) ride of 8-12 hours.

• Be prepared for ANY weather… with lots of layers.

Dear Cindy & Wray,

John and I had a wonderful time in Alaska! I had never stayed in a bed and breakfast; now I know that is the way to go! ...Thank you for your kind hospitality and beautiful accommodations—everything was perfect!

As we left Thursday morning, there was a stunning rainbow over your home. John tried to get it with his camera, but the picture did not do it justice!

Saint Louis temperature today is 100+. Please do visit when you feel the chill set in.

Fondly, John and Pat
