Mountain & Oceanside Hiking in the Chugach  State Park  - a short drive gets you “high” for awesome Earth-Friendly viewing views of the city and mountains across Cook Inlet, including Mt McKinley.  Hike back into the park for wildlife and wildflower viewing.

Birding Galore at Potter Marsh Sanctuary for up-close looks at water birds & spawning salmon.

Alyeska Ski Resort exploring takes you to MORE trails into gorgeous mountain settings…even old gold mines…Pan for gold! Take the tram up into the clouds for awesome views, or book a flight to a sled dog camp to try mushing on a glacier!  Lunch at the Alyeska Bake Shop for hearty soups and sourdough bread. End your day with fabulous food at the Alyeska mountain top restaurant.

Riverside Hiking and Nature Center visiting at Eagle River, north of Anchorage. Guided hikes on various natural science topics in gorgeous river gorge setting. Picnic on the sunny deck of the center!

Riding the Alaska Railroad to Spencer Glacier and floating through icebergs to the river - and they feed you lunch!

Historical and Cultural Exploring is at hand in the Alaska Native Cultural Center on the north edge of town and at Eklutna Native Village and Cemetery further north.
